Random Meanderings

*While at my son's football practice this evening, I noticed that it actually smells like fall outside.

*The sunlight is different this time of year. Slanted a bit differently than usual. More golden.

*A Christian's faith and walk is akin to traveling in fog. Sometimes, you can't see anything, and you have to have faith that you'll get through. And just when you think you can't go another inch, all of a sudden, the fog clears, and you can see enough to get your bearings, renew your strength, and keep on moving.

*Who is the genius that came up with the notion of a 5-lb. bag of peanut M & M's?

*Has anyone else ever wondered if Ben & Jerry's last names are Dooney & Bourke?

*On having a student in junior high: I know more about algebra than I thought I did.

*On having a son who plays football: It's a compliment to hear "Gee, Mom, you don't throw like a girl at all."

*On having a diva in the house (and it's not me): I will always know what makes up a good outfit.

*Divorce does not kill you. A blow like that should, but it doesn't. There are a lot of walking wounded out there.

*Why did they used to call age spots "liver spots?" Do they have anything to do with the liver?

*I had been rather vexed by the beginnings of crows' feet until one of my children pointed out that they're only there because I smile A LOT. How true!

*I liken writing a song to emotionally giving birth.

*Coca-Cola from a glass bottle tastes better than from a plastic bottle or aluminum can. In fact, it reminds me of my childhood. Ever try peanuts in your Coke? It's completely redneck, but yummy!

*Oh yeah, I have redneck tendencies.

*I'm still finding sand from my summer beach trip. Ron told me that would happen.

*I loved Jim's marriage proposal to Pam on The Office.

*I wish I could play blues on the piano.

*I hope to have a song of mine published someday. Or have some of my lyrics put to music by someone who is inspired by them.

*While fascinated by literature set in 16th century England, I don't believe I'd want to have lived back then. 'Twould seem that one's neck was all too vulnerable to the block should a king's heart and/or head be turned by someone of sharp cunning.

*I should totally write literature set in 16th century England! (not).

I am loving your random thoughts today! Who knew you could learn so much about someone through their randomness :) I loved your thoughts on the Christian faith and fog, how true! And yes, I love the romanticism of the 16th century as well, but love my neck even more!
